Normal patient:

Result Interpretation
Normal patient: For each of the ROTEM® assays, a normal patient will exhibit a TEMogram within the reference range for each reagent. Please note: Results from the ROTEM®delta should not be the sole basis for a patient diagnosis, but should be evaluated together with the patient's medical history, the clinical picture and if necessary, further coagulation tests.
|
Platelet deficiency:

|
Platelet deficiency: In this case, all CT's and CFT's are within the reference ranges. MCF's for in-tem®, ex-tem®, and ap-tem®are all below the reference range, suggesting a deficiency in either platelet function (due to insufficient platelets or impaired function) or fibrin polymerization or fibrinogen. The fib-tem®assay MCF is within the reference range, suggesting that fibrin polymerization or fibrinogen is normal, further suggesting insufficient platelets or impaired platelet function. Please note: Results from the ROTEM®delta should not be the sole basis for a patient diagnosis, but should be evaluated together with the patient's medical history, the clinical picture and if necessary, further coagulation tests.

Fibrinogen deficiency:

Â
|
Fibrinogen deficiency: In this case, all CT's and CFT's are within the reference ranges. MCF's for in-tem®, ex-tem®, and ap-tem® are all below the reference range, suggesting a deficiency in either platelet function (due to insufficient platelets or impaired function) or fibrin polymerization or fibrinogen. The fib-tem®assay MCF is below the reference range, suggesting this patient has a deficiency in fibrin polymeriztion or fibrinogen. Please note: Results from the ROTEM®delta should not be the sole basis for a patient diagnosis, but should be evaluated together with the patient's medical history, the clinical picture and if necessary, further coagulation tests. |
Hyperfibrinolysis:

|
Hyperfibrinolysis: The abnormal level of ML at 30 minutes in the in-tem®, ex-tem® and ap-tem® tests suggests fibrinolysis. In comparing ap-tem® parameters to those of ex-tem®, the ap-tem® parameters CT, CFT, and MCF return to the reference range for ex-tem®, further suggesting fibrinolysis. Please note: Results from the ROTEM®delta should not be the sole basis for a patient diagnosis, but should be evaluated together with the patient's medical history, the clinical picture and if necessary, further coagulation tests. |
Heparin influence:
Â

|
Heparin influence: The prolonged CT in the in-tem® test is significantly shortened in the hep-tem® test, to a value within the in-tem® reference range. Also, CFT and MCF parameters return to reference range values. This comparison of hep-tem® results to in-tem® results suggests that the sample contains unfractionated heparin. Please note: Results from the ROTEM®delta should not be the sole basis for a patient diagnosis, but should be evaluated together with the patient's medical history, the clinical picture and if necessary, further coagulation tests.
